Movement challenges people actually join.
Step-a-thon is a corporate step-challenge platform — live leaderboards, teams, streaks and badges, with steps counted right on each person's phone. It's built by The Thought Bulb.
What is Step-a-thon?
Step-a-thon turns a company walking challenge into something people want to be part of. Everyone records their walks on their phone, and the leaderboard updates live — as individuals and as teams. Streaks, badges and per-person progress keep people coming back, and organisers get a clear view of participation without spreadsheets.
Who built it?
Step-a-thon is a product by The Thought Bulb — an organisation that has spent years helping companies create meaningful learning, development and employee experiences through facilitation, training and experiential learning.
Why we built it
Designing experiences for people inside organisations, we kept running into the same problem: employee wellness initiatives often struggle with participation. The intent is good, but the experience doesn't pull people in — so they quietly fizzle out.
So we built Step-a-thon to make movement challenges simple to run, genuinely competitive, and engaging enough that people wantto take part — not because they're told to, but because it's fun to climb the board with their team.
The people behind it
Step-a-thon is built by a team that spends its days thinking about one thing:
How do you get people to participate?
Every part of Step-a-thon — from the live board to the streaks to the one-click challenge templates — comes out of that question.
